I never thought I had a compulsive gambling problem. I would always make excuses on how I was spending my money; it needs to stop. I want to be able to talk with my husband without being yelled at all the time about how much money I took out on credit card and how much I've lost. I don't want to do this anymore but don't know how I can stop gambling.

I'm the type of person who always needs to be doing something--if I don't gamble, I clean. I need to do something else with my time but just don't know what? Do I get another job? I need help! I don't want to have a gambling addiction problem anymore.
I know what you mean because I really want to stop going to the casino and stop playing poker (Texas hold'em). Ever since I learned how to play this game 1 1/2 year ago, all I think about is playing Texas hold'em poker. I used to play online and lost a lot of money but now I go to local casino and spend hours at a time there losing a lot of money and feeling really bad about myself. I think about all the things I could have bought with the money I wasted on gambling. I don't know how to stop playing Texas hold'em because I want to go everyday to play. I think of ways to go there to spend all day playing Texas hold'em and I used to play blackjack but I don't even want to do that anymore. Help me to stop playing Texas hold'em.
We both sound like we are in the same boat. I wish I knew how to help you, but I can't even help myself with my compulsive gambling problem.
I think we just need to stop going to the casino and stop playing Texas hold'em as long as we can. I went back today to the casino and lost another $640 and yesterday I lost $1,100 and thought I could get my money back today. I need to stop going gambling. I want to learn how to stop gambling, especially poker.

Hello whoever you are,

Stop

How to stop gambling? I understand your plight I've been a problem gambler for 24 years, but haven't gambled for over a year. I have written two short books on the subject (one published) and developed a website for all the people out there who have a compulsive gambling problem like yourself. If you go to my website, you can download a free self-help book, which will give you many answers that you are looking for. It might not stop you from gambling, only you can do that, but it's free, it takes an hour to read, and you will be able to empathize with everything in it. My thoughts are with you and good luck

I wish I could really help you to quit playing Texas hold'em. Do you have someone in your life-to spend time with a loved one or a friend to keep you company instead of going to the casino? Have you thought about gamblers anonymous meetings?

How To Stop Yourself From Going To The Casino

I would like to ask the forum for ideas and suggestions regarding all the unwanted promotional offers and mailings from Casinos....I play at many Ceasar's Properties as well as MGM properties, and I have requested over and over again that I DO NOT WANT PROMOTIONAL MAIL from the casinos coming to my home, which is also is in the same building as my place of work.
I only want to receive promotions and offers through email but not postal mail. I would think it is very costly to send all those promotional mailers and that it's cheaper to send promotions through email anyway, but they seem to stop for awhile, then start up again. After I request that postal mail to my home be stopped, it gets better for a bit, then within the year I start to get lots of mail again...
Any tried and true ideas how to stop this? Any other forum members bothered by this? Is there a tried and true way to stop these offers and promotions from coming in the mail to my home/work?
