CoolCat Casino has some of the best 21 games online! Play Match Play 21 also Known as Spanish 21 and win a whole bunch of card combos that focus on the lucky 7 card. Match Play 21 is played with a 48 card deck where all the number 10 cards are removed. But many of the regular Blackjack rules apply in Match Play 21. The Dealer’s hole card in Match Play 21 is dealt face down, and the others are dealt face up. The Dealer must hit on a soft 17 in Match Play 21. You can split, but you can only double down once. After you split, your two-card twenty one will not be considered a Blackjack. You can split your Aces in Match Play 21. When there’s a push on twenty one — when you AND the dealer have both twenty one points, you win!
The problem is that the odds against winning can be anywhere from 2-40%. Avoid wives tales. There are a lot of bad strategies like never busting (never hit a 12+), mimicking the dealer and assume that the dealer has a 10 in the whole (with ace up). The problem with using any of these strategies is that they increase the house edge from 3 to 10 percent.
While playing Match Play 21, if you think you don’t have a good hand, you can surrender and dealer will only take half of your bet. Match Play 21 also gives you Insurance once the Dealer’s up card is an Ace. You can always bet if the Dealer will get a Blackjack, if the Dealer gets a Blackjack, you win your bet!
But wait, Match Play 21 isn’t just your standard online Blackjack game. You’ve gotta check out the Match Play 21 combos. You have a 40 to 1 payout ratio when you win the Lucky 7s combo. When you hold three 7s and the Dealer holds another 7 you win. This is the most valuable combo in Match Play 21! You get a 3 to 2 payout ratio when you have a hand of different suits forming a combo of 6, 7, and 8 value cards. Your payout ratio is 2 to 1 if those numbers are of the same suit except for spades. The payout is 3 to 1 if they are all in spades. Match Play 21 payout ratio is three to two once you reach 21 exactly with a 5-card hand.
At CoolCat Casino, Match Play 21 has payout odds at 98.5% and a minimum bet of $1.00 and a maximum of $250.00. You can customize your limits when you become a CoolCat Casino VIP customer.
How to play Match Play 21
The objective of the player in the Match Play 21 Blackjack is to draw the cards with the total higher than the dealer without going over 21. If that sounds very much like Blackjack, remember that this game has the Match Play 21 win. This basically means the player holds a hand with three 7s of the same suit, even as the dealer’s up card reveals a seven. The Match Play 21 is played with 48-card deck with all the tens removed from the deck. All the other cards in the deck remain and are assigned the following points:
Card values:
The cards from 2 through 9 are given the points at their face value.
Jacks, Queens and Kings hold 10 points.
Aces can count as either 1 or 11. To illustrate, 4+ Ace is equal to 5 points or 15 points. The value of Ace may change as you split or double down.
Note: The cards are reshuffled after every hand.
Player’s actions:
Bet: The game begins when you place a bet. On the Match play 21 table layout at CoolCat Casino, you can place the minimum bet of $5 and the maximum of $250. There are different chips of $1, $5, $25 and $100 to settle down your wager. You can click on the rebet tab to place the similar stake amount with which you betted on your last hand.
Deal: Once you have placed your bet, press the deal button to draw begin the gameplay. Then you are dealt with two cards face up and the dealer is dealt with one card face up and one facedown. You win if the total of your cards is higher than the dealer and it dose not exceed the limit of 21. You lose if the total of your cards is less than the dealer and the total of the dealer’s cards dose not exceed 21.
Surrender: The surrender option allows you to give up on your hand if you think that it is not good enough to stand. When you surrender, half of your bet is returned back to you.
Double: You can “double down” if you believe that apart from the first two cards, drawing another card will help you beat the dealer’s hand. When you press the double tab your wager is automatically doubled and you are dealt with another card face up. For instance, if your first hand has a 2 and a queen with a bet of $5. The dealer’s hand shows a queen and you feel dealing another card can help you beat the dealer’s hand, you press double. At this a third card will be dealt to you and your wager will increase to $10. You can double down on any number of cards but you can double only once. You also have the option to surrender after you have doubled down. Surrendering after doubling down will pull off your double down wager.
Split: If you are dealt with two cards of the same value, you may split the two cards into two separate hands by clicking the split tab. For instance, if you get the 7, 7 or Q, K then you can split the cards into two separate hands. You can play with three hands one at a time. Once you have split your cards with the similar value, you can proceed with the usual dealing of the cards.
Note: If you split two Aces, only one extra card is dealt for each hand. A hand that gives out the total of 21 after the Aces are split is considered as 21, not Blackjack.
Stand: When you want to keep the hand which is dealt, press the stand button. If you get the hard total of 21, the game will automatically put your hand on stand.
Push: When the dealer’s card total and your card total come out to be equal, the game is a push. This results in neither winning and nor losing and returns your wager as well. In Match play 21, it not a push if you and the dealer both has blackjack. In fact, in this case the player automatically wins.
Note: There can be push only when the dealer has the card total from 17 to 20.
Hit: If you wish to draw another card, you can take a hit before you stand. You can keep drawing the cards till you get bust or a total of 21. Hit option draws the cards without doubling your bet. You can hit on your original stake.

Insurance: Insurance gives you an option to protect yourself whenever the dealer’s face up card is an Ace. You can click on the ‘yes’ or ‘no’ options to buy or not to buy insurance respectively. You can purchase insurance at the price of half of your original bet. If you buy the insurance and the dealer’s card total comes out to be 21, you win 2:1 which matches up to your original bet. However, if the dealer’s card total is not 21, you lose your insurance money. In case if both the player and the dealer get blackjack, it results in a push. The player wins “even money” which includes your wager plus the insurance reward.
Bust: Whenever the player’s or the dealer’s card value exceeds the total 21, it called bust. If the dealer busts, you win automatically. If you go bust, you lose your wager.
: It is Blackjack, when the total value of the initial two cards comes out to be 21. If you get the score of 21 with three or more cards, it is not considered to be a Blackjack.
Match Play 21 Strategy
Match Play 21 is based on the classic casino game of Blackjack. It has some additional rules, but it is played much the same way. To play Match Play 21 efficiently, you can apply the strategies available for playing Blackjack. And, when you team up your game skills with a betting system, you can effectively turn the odds in your favor regardless of if you’re winning or losing. There are many betting systems available today. Most of these betting systems help you win extra. But what should you do if you keep losing? On this page, you will learn to bet appropriately in a situation where you’re losing.
The Grand Martingale System
This system is based on the famous Martingale System. Grand Martingale system is a negative progression system and can help you recover your losses.
This system requires you to double your bet on a losing hand and add an additional amount to it in order to place your next bet. You should keep following the same pattern until you win. Once you win, you can switch back to a normal betting pattern.
Example
Let’s say you begin the game with a $10 bet. And (God forbid!) you lose. You next bet should be double the bet on your losing hand, which is $10, plus some extra amount, say $2. Your next bet would be worth $22. If you lose again, your bet should be worth $46 ($22 x 2 + $2).
How does this system help you get back what you have lost? Let’s say your bankroll is worth $100. You bet $10 and lose. Your bankroll is worth $90. You follow the system, double your bet to $20 ($10 x 2) and add an additional amount of $5 to it. Your total bet now is $25. If you lose again your bankroll is further reduced to $65. Following the same pattern, you place another bet of $55 ($25 x 2 + $5). Now if you win this time, your bankroll would be worth $120. You began with a bankroll of $100, and ended up with a bankroll worth $120, even after losing twice.
Drawbacks of Grand Martingale System
Grand Martingale system looks pretty impressive. It works, no doubts about it, but that little factor of the “winning moment” is still there. What if the “winning moment” does not arrive as expected. Instead, you may reach the table limit or finish your entire bankroll.
To avoid such situations, always decide on a betting limit and then stick to it. Any gambler may have to face an off day. If you don’t win even after applying the system, stop using it. Leave the table and come back on another day. A betting strategy cannot magically turn you into a rich person.

History of Match Play 21

Match Play 21 is one of the Blackjack babies. When you play Match Play 21 you’ll find it similar in terms of rules and terminology to the great Blackjack patriarch.
Match Play 21 Blackjack is also called Spanish 21 as it has spawned out of a Spanish game called Spanish Blackjack. Spanish Blackjack also uses 21 cards with all the 10s removed from the card deck. After Spanish Blackjack, Double Attack Blackjack took centre stage and was also played with a 48-card deck. This further gave birth to a game called Triple 7s which rocked the casino tables. Triple 7s finally gave a way to the game of Match Play 21. This is how Match Play 21 traversed from the Spanish Blackjack to hit the casino tables!

How many decks are used in this game? Also, are the decks regular or Spanish?
Assuming eight regular decks, taking out the dealer's up card there are 415 cards in the shoe, 31 cards of the dealer's up card's rank, and 384 cards not of the dealer's up card's rank. There are 7 cards that are of both the dealer's up card's rank and suit, and there are 24 cards of the dealer's up card's rank but of a different suit.
The number of ways for 2 suited matches is 7× 6 / 2.
Match The Dealer Side Bet
The ways for 1 suited + 1 non suited is 7 × 24.The ways for 1 suited match is 7 × 384.
The ways for 2 non suited matches is 24 × 23 / 2.
The ways for 1 non suited match is 24 × 384.
And the ways for no matches is 384 × 383 /2.
To find the house edge multiply each of the above numbers by its payout (the payout of no matches is -1.) Then divide the sum by the sum of the above numbers of ways, which should be 415 × 414 / 2.
For eight regular decks, I get a house edge of 7.11%.
appreciate the responses so far, but can anyone confirm the approximate 7 percent being correct? i just need the ballpark # within a percent

ChesterDog used the parameters you later confirmed, to come up with HE 7.11%. Penetration doesn't matter for this calculation. I think you have an accurate answer already.
